What Dareum Travel is
Dareum Travel publishes data-driven budget travel guides. Instead of vague advice, every guide is built around current, verifiable numbers: accommodation price tiers, local transit fares, attraction entry fees, and realistic daily budgets — in local currency and USD.
How we build our guides
- Sourced numbers. Costs are aggregated from official tourism boards, transit authorities, attraction websites, and live booking-platform prices. Where a number appears in a guide, we link the source next to it.
- Dated verification. Each cost table notes the month its figures were last verified. Prices move fast in travel — always confirm current fares before you book.
- Scenario budgets. We translate raw prices into daily-budget scenarios (hostel + street food vs. private room + mixed dining) so you can plan against your own budget, not an average.
Who writes this site
Guides are written and maintained under the pen name Dara Yun — the working alias of Dareum Travel’s editor, based in Seoul. We use a pen name for privacy and say so openly rather than inventing a fake persona.
What we don’t do
We do not claim to have personally visited every destination or tested every service. When a guide reflects research and aggregation rather than first-hand experience, it is framed that way — “current fares show”, “per the official tariff” — never as a fabricated trip report.
